Milgroim | description |Mark Wischnitzer| = "Milgroim" (Yiddish for pomegranate) was a Yiddish language culture magazine published in Berlin by Mark and Rachel Wischnitzer. Mark Wischnizter was a sociologist and historian specializing in Jewish history. His wife, Rachel, was a scholar of Jewish art who was born in Minsk and studied architecture in Paris. "Milgroim" also included the Yiddish authors David Bergelson and Der Nister as joint editors, both of whom left after the first issue because of a disagreement over the magazine's direction. "Milgroim" included articles on culture, art history, and contemporary art; Yiddish translations of authors like Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Arthur Schnitzler; and contemporary Yiddish poetry. Articles were not limited to Jewish themes; in one issue, an article on Hasidism was published alongside an article on Buddhism. Another issue discussed Cézanne alongside Max Nordau. JdischeAuswanderung | description |Mark Wischnitzer| = "Jüdische Auswanderung" ("Jewish emigration"; known earlier as "Korrespondenzblatt über Auswanderungs und Siedlungswesen," "correspondence newsletter for emigrants and settlers") was the journal of the "Hilfsverein der Deutschen Juden" ("German Jewish aid society"). Founded in 1901, the society originally focused on providing assistance for Eastern European Jews. Around 1930, it concentrated on helping emigrants traveling from and through Germany. In the February 1933 issue of "Jüdische Auswandering," the "Hilfsverein" listed the following as some of its tasks: providing advice for emigrants; intervention with authorities, consulates, and ship employees; assistance with tickets and visa needs; protection and assistance for the sick and travelers, who have had their journey out of Germany impeded; and assistance for those traveling alone. "Jüdische Auswandering" included emigration statistics as well as information on destination countries for emigrants.
